"we learn to do by doing."- Spencer W. Kimball

This quote can mean many different things to many different people but to me it means that the only way we will learn is by doing. In other words you can learn through many other teqniques but the best one is by learning how to do it. For instance when we were kids, small 1 to 3 years old and we didn't know much about this world we had to learn how to get along with it. we had to learn how to breathe on our own and we did this by trying. I mean if we can learn how to breathe i think we can learn how to do almost anything. Before i would be scared or afraid to try new things because they were different and because i didn't  know how to do the things. i learned to not be afraid by learning how to face my fears of not knowing. in other words if i wouldn't try to learn how to do a certain thing then i would never be able to do anything. so what Mr. Kimball is trying to say is that the only way we will learn how to do something is bey doing it. So...next time you want to learn how to do someting try to do it. Show yourself that you can learn by being your own teacher by teaching yourself how to learn.
Example: i didn't know how to swim before intill i tried. My friends taught me how to trust myself and the simple teqniques on swimming. i'm glad i learned how to swim. it's true the only way i learned to swim was by swimming.

Emergency Medical Technician

An emt is a medical professional who are first responders in case of an emergency.

Duties and responsibilities:

• They are contact when there is an emergency.
• They have to work with other emergency personnel.
• They must be able to stabilize and transport patients to the hospital.
• They must be able to search for the most convenient hospital for the patient.
• They must be able to make life or death decisions.
• They must be able to work under pressured.
• Most importantly they must be prepared for the worst because not all patients make it .

Salary: they get paid 31,020 on average since 2012.

Education:

• You must have a high school diploma or a GED and formal emergency training.
• There are three levels in EMT training, you must pass all three of these levels.
• level#1 is called the EMT basic and in order to complete it you must pass the state written exam and the practical exam.
• Level #2 is the EMT intermediate stage which includes 30 to 350 training hours.
• Last but not least level #3 the highest paramedic, usually taken at a community college, in anatomy and physiology course.
• Sometimes you can get your associate degree because of your training and the completion of the a program.
• You must also take the NREMT to become an official or licensed EMT.

Demand or need for this profession : this job has grown 23% since 2012.

Reflection: I wouldn’t want to be an EMT because it doesn’t really interest me. It may be suitable for people that are calm but i tend to stress too much over anything. I couldn’t imagine myself in a chaotic environment like this one. I wouldn’t like losing a patient that would be too much for me to bare.

I choose to write this quote because i believe  that it’s important to be yourself and to really express it. Some people may find that their unique traits make them weak or weird but, i believe it makes you strong. I think those unique traits show people who you are and the specialty of your personality. Let’s just say that some people don’t really express themselves like they really want to because their afraid of being judged or they lack the confidence.I know someone who doesn’t have the confidence or the courage to show who they really are and this is for her and for all the other people who try to be someone they aren’t. I want people to be who they are and to actually show it. Leave a little of something every where you go and people will remember you as just so because you stood out to them from everyone else. So next time wear a crazy hat, smile at a person, or do something remarkable. There are so many things i can say about this quote but the most important thing that i want you to think about is who are you. Once you have truly answered that question will you be able to express who you are. So remember you're unique not weird and that’s your strength and not your weakness.

My example to you : Somebody i know can really sing but they don’t believe me and she tries to hide it. She sang to me and my other friends once and i was happy that she had embraced herself. I was glad that she confronted her fears and she did it. She just sang that one time and no other time but her voice is a unique talent of hers and i think sh should embrace it.

Ear Nose Throat Doctor

A ear nose and throat doctor also know as a ENT is a specialized doctor who treats the disorders or disease of the nose, ears, throat. They are trained to be one of the doctors who can provide you with medical treatment or surgical management in the categories of the ear , nose, and throat.

Duties and responsibilities :

• Evaluates patient’s condition and checks the medical history of the patient.
• They are trained to be like surgeons, so they perform their own surgery on their patients.
• Must keep accurate records of their patient's problem.
• They have to make reports to the insurance companies.
• Negotiate for payment from the insurance companies.
• They hire their own personnel or staff.
• Pay their own bills and follow the local licensing requirements.

Salary: An ear nose throat doctor gets paid $369,790 annually.

Education: to become a ear nose throat doctor you must go to college. You must graduate from college with a medical degree. So in total it’s eight years of school . Then it’s five years of residency training and a optional two years of training if you want to be more advanced.Demand or need for this profession: This job is said to grow 24% from 2010 to 2020.

Reflection : I think this career sounds interesting so i think i would like to be one. I would like to be one because they help people and they once help me too. Their job sounds interesting in diagnosing people and the problems they have in the ear nose and throat. Not only that but your your own boss which i find pretty cool.

Well this success statement of the day is hard to explain because in order to understand it you must do it. So let’s see everybody wants to be happy but we can’t never really find the key in obtaining it. So what Mr. Bednar is suggesting is that if you want to obtain that happiness you must be obedient. You must listen to yourself before you act. You must listen to yourself so that you’ll be able to do what’s right. In other words as long as you listen you will be happy. As long as you follow the rules and you choose to listen you will be happy. We all want happiness and if you're looking for a way to obtain it try David Bednar’s method. Example : If i listen to my parents and i follow their rule they will be happy with my behavior. If they are happy they will want to reward me with something that i want. As you can see because i was obedient i got rewarded and this made me happy.

                                                           LAUSD STUDENT SERVICES
The LAUSD district provides many services for the students . Some of these many include Beyond the bell programs,online learning,and your graduation requirements.

  The Beyond the bell programs: these may included after school programs, before school programs,
and music or art partner ships. They are all provided by LAUSD for students that may want to join clubs or need additional academic support.The best part of it all is that they are free.

  Online learning: This is one of the programs that LAUSD may also provide. It's an opportunity that lets all high schoolers catch up or get ahead in their education. It helps students attain credits from home through an online education.

  Graduation requirements : The lausd website provides information on your A-G requirements and all the essential information to be college ready.

Reflection : The lausd students services have opened a door to me of new information. I'm suprise that they provide so much services that we don't even know about. I'm very intrested in learning about the online courses i can take and it's advantages.

                                                               Dermatologist

A dermatologist is a doctor whose job is to treat the skin, hair and nails of a person.

Some of his/her duties and responsibilities may include:

Provide patients with a consultation.

Develop a diagnosis for the patient.

Be able to look at the patient’s medical history and perform a physical exam for further information.

Must be able to perform a dermatological screening which is to look for visible symptoms on the body.

Must be able to perform other types of test if needed.

Do procedures where they remove things such as warts and other stuff.

They provide patients with medication that relates to their condition and the recovery of it.

Last but not least the inform the patients of what their condition is, how the treatment will help,and they also answer any questions the patient may have.

Salary: Median salary for a Male dermatologist gets paid $300,000 while female dermatologist get paid $262,500.

Education: They must have an undergraduate degree at a four year college. While their at the four year college it would help them if they got classes that help in that medical field. They must get into medical school. In medical school you must meet the requirements and pass the dermatology residence. To complete it takes one year of an intern and three years of clinical practice. Last but not least you must get your licensing to  become an official dermatologist.

Demand or need for this profession:This job has grown 14% over the years.

Reflection: i wouldn’t want to be a dermatologist because it isn’t equal pay between men and women.I think this is unfair because we do the same job but we don’t get the exact same credit.

"Choosing the right is always the right thing to do." Alex Linares
To me this statement means that you can never go wrong when you do right and choosing the right is the right thing to do.So to be more patent about this success statement of the day we shall think about it's meaning more deeply.Other than choosing thee right i came up with the idea that this statement is trying to tell the person who reads it that it's always best if you do the right thing. Maybe choosing the right isn't always the best solution for you but mr.linares states that even though you wouldn't like to it's always your best choice and the right thing to do. In other words people sometimes decide to make bad choices but is that right. At that moment  they don't really think about but later on when there are consequense the regret their choice. so if you choose the right their won't be any futher consequences that affect you. This is because you did the right thing and when you do the right thing nothing can affect you. There's no guilt in the choice you made just the satisfaction that since you choosed the right there is nothjing that can go wrong. So remember before you act always think about choosing the right. don't forget "choosing the right is always the right thing to do."by Alex linares.
Example: If i choose the right and decide to do my chores then watch t.v my  parents are proud of me that i listened. after words i don't have to worry about getting in trouble for not doing what i was told.

to me this means that you can be one of the most highest achievers in life but in reality your world can be falling apart. In other words if you a person who is doing good and you have achieve many things is that more important than your behavior and what your like. what are you doing to become a better person. there isn't balance in just succeeding in life and not on the type of person you are.  you have to succeed in life.and if you are your only doing half because what have you done to become better. so what i think john wooden is trying to say is that people are to focus on succeeding and having the best things they can. In reality they forget to be nice and a better person. so it's good to succeed. But while your at it, we have to succeed or work on our behavior or personality.
example: i am trying to become a better person so i help when i can and i think that it's as important as succeeding.

                                                Greek  Mythology teacher

A teacher who teaches the classic stories of the greek and roman.

Their duties and responsibilities are similar to those of a teacher.

Duties and responsibilities:

Be able to teach the students the curriculum

Make sure that the students fulfill all the educational requirements

Use your own method to teach as long as it follows the curriculum

Plan and prepare the lessons.

Assign work and note the student's progress

Assist to meetings and test sessions that involve the student.

Education: You must take a program on levels in classical studies/greek mythology.

Reflection : yes i would like to be one because mythology fascinates me. This wouldn’t be my major degree but i plan to still get a degree on it. The reason why it’s not my major degree is because to find a job of this kind is difficult. So in conclusion i would like to become one because i like what they do and what they teach.

To me this means that your actions and giving to the community counts more than having everything and never giving back. So in my words what i think pathros is trying to say is that those random acts of kindness are valued more in life than having all the money in the world and not doing nothing with it.In other words your only truely wealthy when you give to others because the more you give the more you get. If you don't give anything you are likely not getting anything in return. And sometimes you may find it hard to spend because your money doesn't last you very long. I have learned not to be selfish and to share with others the things that i can. I do this because when you share things somehow last longer and you have that happy feeling that some else could experience or do something that your doing.I want to challenge you that for the next opportunity you get share what you have and don't be selfish about. It can be as little as a smile or even a hug and you'll probably feel great too.So in the words of pathros " true wealth is of the heart, not of the pursue.". And in my words if you give you get and if you don't give you don't get.
Example: I use to the opposite of what pathros would say. I would not share and never give, and to me things never lasted long enough. until one day my mom told me that if you share things would last longer. I didn't believe her because how was it going to last longer if i gave a piece to all of my sisters.I tried her method and it actually worked i shared and i felt good about it. I gave to my sisters and they gave back to me another day by sharing their treat with me.

                                                      Dental assistant

A dental assistant is a person who  helps out the dentist. They make your visit to your local dentist easier and faster.

Some of their duties and responsibilities are :

To help the dentist in treatment and procedures.

Taking the x-rays of your teeth.

Looking at the medical history of the patient.

Preparing the equipment and all that is needed for the dentist.

Give patients the awareness and the information of the things that will be work on with them and also make them feel comfortable.

Managing the office and giving directions to the patients.

Be able to communicate with patients and help advise them for additional treatment.

Salary : the dental assistant gets paid $34,500 annually.

Education: Get your formal education at a place like a community college.Once you graduate you will probably receive a certificate. This process takes about 9 to 11 months to complete. You must get your accreditation by passing an exam that test you on your knowledge and skills.

Demand or need for this profession: this job is said to grow 18% faster from 2014 to 2024.

Reflection: This job sounds sort of interesting but not enough to make me want to get a degree on it.I wouldn’t want to be a dental assistant because they do so much yet their credit for it is very little. Like when you go to the dentist you usually expect the dentist to do all the work but it’s actually the dental assistant that helps you. Most people don’t even know that their dental assistants, just dentist. So i wouldn’t want to get a degree on this because it’s not that interesting and the dental assistants don’t receive as much credit as the should.

For starters to me this means that when you do wrong you can't feel fine with it because you have a guilty conscience that's haunting you because of what you did.In other words i would like for you to think back then to a time when you were just a child probably in kindergarden or in the first grade. now that you're there i want you to think of the first time you got in trouble by your teacher. what did you do and how did you feel. You probably must have felt sad for getting in trouble, wishing that you could do it all over again so you wouldn't feel the way you feel. to me this is mr.benson was trying to say , you  can't do something bad and feel okay about it. In other words the only reason why i made you think back to a time that you were small was because when we were small we would be affected by what we do. we would actually feel bad if we did bad. Now the older we get the less we care, because were so use to doing wrong that it feels okay. You may not know that your doing wrong because your so use to it that it doesn't affect you anymore like how it should have.I'm not saying that were bad people but the actions we make, makes us look like it. now i would just like you to reflect on my words and next time if you do something wrong i want you to try and feel something for doing wrong.
example: i remember when i was in the first grade and i had gotten in trouble for the first time. i did wrong and i felt sad of my actions because it wasn't like me to get in trouble.mr. benson is right you can't feel anything but sad when you do wrong.

                                                          Dentist

A dentist is a doctor specialized in the area of oral health.

Duties and responsibilities:

Diagnose oral disease

They promote oral health and are suppose to help you prevent diseases

Create treatment plans to help with your oral health.

Take x-rays and make a diagnosis from the test they take you.

Look after how much anesthesia you receive.

Keep track of the growth of your teeth and jaws.

They can also perform surgery in your mouth if you have cavities.

Salary: A dentist is said to get $149,310 annually.

Education: the following is required if you would like to become a dentist you must have a bachelor's degree in order to enter dental school.Then you must get a doctoral degree in dental medicine and/ or surgery. Last but not least you must get your licensing to officially become a doctor.

Demand for this profession: This job is said to grow 18 % from 2014 to 2024.

Reflection: i wouldn’t like to be a dentist because this job doesn’t really intrigue me. I don’t i would be any good at working in a tight situation like the one a dentist has.dentist have to work on people’s teeth and i think it wouldn’t be a good field because they must be brave to pull out teeth and im not very brave.

To me, this quote means that whether you do good or bad determines the way you feel. I think that everybody tries to be good but occasionally there's a time when we decide to be bad. When were bad we have the guilt of being caught and the tormenting thoughts of the problems that may arise.In other words you can't feel good of doing bad because you know the difference between right and wrong. you were raised to know the difference and to try your best in being the best person you can be.I for instance always try my best to be good because i feel good about it and i have less worries. i have less worries because i know that i did good and the only consequence of that turn into a positive outcome. I get what abraham lincoln is trying to say, and it's so simple to understand. so, overall  be good because you will feel good about being good. yes, there may be a time when you are challenged to be bad but as long as you have perseverance , you are bound to overcome it. Do good because it's the right thing to do.
Example: i feel good when i do good.An example of this is i study hard and i get a good grade. a good grade makes me proud and makes me feel good about my hard work.when i do bad i feel bad an example of this would be that one time when i forgot to study and i got a bad grade.i felt terrible because it isn't like me. 

                                                     Chiropractor

A chiropractor is a doctor who tends to the problems related to the bones, tendons, and ligaments   of a patient.

Some of the chiropractor’s duties and responsibilities may include:

Making a consultation for the patient to determine his/her treatment plan.

They must be able to perform certain physical tests to determine the issue of the patient.

Discuss their job, what it does, and what additional things should the patient do.

They are to help relieve pain from the patients , all though it may be temporary.

They also recommend certain additional treatments for the patients.

May work with physical therapists and doctors.

There may be a time when the must administer the office duties.

salary : the median salary of a chiropractor is 66,160 since 2012.

Education :

a chiropractor must take four years of professional study and four more years of college.

Two years of the four must be spent studying basic sciences.

Must complete the requirements of the national board, part one and two.

The other two years of school must be spent studying the clinical sciences.

Part three of the national board is only completed if, the chiropractor would like to.

Then their is part four of the national board which is three test to see how well he/she scores in the practical skills they have learn.

Demand for this profession : this career is said to grow 17% from 2014-2024.

Reflection  : I don’t think i would like to be a chiropractor because this career doesn’t really intrigue me. I can’t study something that doesn’t fascinate me because the job that i choose will be the one that i do for the rest of my life. I want a career on something that will grab my attention and show me something new everyday.

 well what does this mean to you... to me it means that if we follow the rules we tend to gain more freedom then when we don't follow them. in other words if you want to become be more independent you have to be trusted that you can handle having your own freedom. you do this by following the rules. when you follow the rules you learn how to be a better person you become more responsible. if your then responsible then you'll be trusted in the fact that you can make your own choices. their is always a price for freedom and in this case according to mr. packer the price for freedom is being obedient. my best advice to you is that maybe mr. packer is right. he's telling us this as advice and when someone gives you advice take it. he's probably telling you this so you won't make the same mistakes he did or someone he knows did.older people tend to be wiser because they have lived longer and have had more experiences in life then us. so i trust mr. packer's advice and i tend to follow it.
example: my parents have set me rules and i follow them for two reasons: one, because it makes me feel good that i'm being obedient and two, there are advantages to following the rules.since i follow the rules my parents trust me. when your parents trust you they give you your own independence/ freedom knowing that your going to be responsible and you'll make the right choices.

many of you guys may know that in september 11,2001 there was a terrorist attack on three major places. these three places were the world trade center in new york city, the pentagon just outside washington d.c., and in a field in pennsylvania. you were lucky enough if you weren't impacted by it. honestly, this day was one of the most tragic stories in our history.on this day many people lost their families, innocent people that did nothing were killed by this attack. it saddens me how the 19 attackers didn't think of what their actions could have done to many people. if only they could have put their selves in the shoes of the people that lost their families. i'm all for peace, that's who i am and that's what i believe in. they say it's impossible but at least we can try. we don't know for certain why they did it or what were their reasons. we must learn from this and learn how to live with it. my first memory of this was in the third grade when my teacher made us write a letter about the events to inform our parents.we also read a book about this day. in conclusion september 11,2001 was a day that may never be forgotten especially to those who actually witness it first hand. it was a day of tragedy where many family members, police officers,and firemen died.But in the end we overcame it and i'm truly sorry for those who lost somebody.Facts: about 3,00 people were killed, 400 of these people were police and firefighters.the wreckage took 9 months to clean.

 Reflection : september 11,2001 was something truly terrible that even terrible cant cover the events that happen that day. all i want to say is that this coming monday, september 9, 2016 be thankful that you still have your life and your family because this day 15 years ago some people lived their last day and it wasn't their best day. some other people lost their family so be thankful for those people that are still around and enjoy those special moments with them like if it were your last.

 when i read this quote i think that it's meaning is that in life you are tested. you can either break the rules or follow them. well, sometimes by mistake we may not think things thoroughly and so we choose to bend the rules. were not perfect we make mistakes but we shouldn't make them often. every opportunity you get to follow the rules do it. you'll feel good and their won't be negative consequences that haunt you.so, i guess to me what thomas was trying to tell me was that there may be a time in life when you feel stuck and their may be too choices the easy one or the hard one. if the easy way out is the wrong way just  fight yourself through the hard way because it may be the right way. Its better to work hard and do the right once. then do the wrong thing the easy way and then redo it again because it was done improperly the first time.might as well get it over with...right so choose the right way stick to the rules even if it's the hardest choice you make.so remember following the rules may be challenging but you can do it.
example; once i had to choose between going outside to play or following my mom's rules and staying outside to finish my h.w. thanks to her i finished it even though i din't go outside i got a good grade the next day. i was proud of my self for making the right choice because it pays off.
