To me this means that in order to succeed in life you must become educated in different ways. In other words in life it's all about learning and you can never know enough, it's impossible to know everything. That's why Gordon is trying to tell the reader that success starts with education. If your get your education then you will know things and when you know things you have the advantage that people with education don't. Education is like a super power, it helps you overcome obstacles and sometimes it even challenges you to see if would show perseverance. You see if you don't get your education you won't be able to succeed in life. If you really were to think of it everything requires you to use your knowledge. If you don't have knowledge how are you going to succeed in completing the task at hand. Overall education is really important and if you have the chance to learn, take it. Some people don’t have that advantage like you just think about that and I want you to think about how education is going to help you succeed today. 

  Example: I’m in the 9^th grade and thanks to education I have learned many things that I couldn’t have known without it. One of my success stories is that thanks to my education I have received many certificates of accomplishments that make me feel proud.

"decisions determine destiny'' Thomas S. Monson

To me this quote tells me that it all starts with a decision, a choice and whatever you choose will determine your future or destiny. Lets say if you make a wrong decision and you don't correct yourself your future may be affected by that one decision. So i guess the thing that's best for us is to make the right decisions so that our future may be as bright as our choices. This quote is really helpful to me because it's like a reminder that we should always think before we make a decision. Before you make you next big decision you have to stop for a moment and think about it. Ask yourself is this what you  truly want to do or are you just doing just because. I'm not telling you to overthink the situation because sometimes overthinking a problem can make it worse. I'm just suggesting  that you think about it once and actually spend some time on that thought. I'm saying this because you may never know what that one decision can do your destiny. Remember this "decisions determine destiny."Thomas S. Monson.

Example: If i were to make the decision to not do my homework then in the end i'll end up failing my class. so by making that decision i determine my destiny.
