“KINDNESS is the essence of greatness.” Joseph B. Wirthlin
To me this quote means that in order to be a great person you must show kindness. If we were to set the example it would soon be popular to practice it and kindness does make a difference in people. Being kind is showing others that you care for them and in a world like the one we live in we need to be shown that good people still exist. In other words being kind is what people look about in a person. Your personality tells much about you and when your kind all that people see is that your kind. They don't see anything else like your flaws or your mistakes. They think even after everything that has happen to him/her they are still kind.

Thanksgiving week
qwer.jpgMy thanksgiving break was average, in the sense of fun. I mostly worked at the post partum department at a hospital and got the chance to hang out with my work buddies. That same week i visited my mom’s friend, she makes some pretty good food. Most of the time i was bored with nothing to do. There was this one night that was unique unlike the others. I went outside and laid down to watch the stars. The best part of my break was spending more time with my family. I got to hang out with my sisters more and that’s something that i miss doing. Another remarkable experience i lived through during my break was that on thanksgiving we went to my grandma’s house. There my sister pushed me around the blocks in my grandma’s chair. It was fun because i never did something like it before. In that moment i felt full of life and at some points she would break and i would become terrified. Me and my sister also did something else we watched a movie together. It was a nice night and all we did was laugh but not to loud since it was night. I enjoyed it much and also the moments i got to share with the people i love. So in the end  my break was boring but these moments made them unforgettable.mnb.jpeg

“ Manners maketh man.” William wykeham
This quote by Mr. Wykeham reminds me of the way my parents raised me. They would always teach me the importance of showing good manners and how to speak properly. To me i think manners make you look more professional and nowadays you can rarely find people with manners. We have forgotten the importance of being polite and showing respect. Just the other day i asked this lady if could open the door for me ,i’m a bit shy so i sort of whispered it. She told me what’s the magic word and i thought she was playing. For a few seconds i stood there shock and then i said please and she opened the door. Saying please is a good manner one must learn. That day made me realize that as long as you be polite you can go a long way. Manners help us be friendly and civil people...haven’t you ever wonder why when you sometimes say thank you the other person doesn’t respond to you, doesn't that feel horrible. Without manners we can tend to be really rude and if you're rude people tend not to like you. And then you feel like the whole world is against you but in reality you bought yourself upon this.So remember always be polite and set that example you’ll suprise yourself and others around. Manners are great so express them.

“If it is not right, do not do it; if it is not true do not say it.” Marcus aurelius

To me this quote means that don’t get yourself into problems because you want to be all up into somebody’s business. That’s what the first part of this quote tells me. In other words don’t decide to do something bad just because you want to fit in or because you may think it’ll be fun. We must learn that our actions have consequences. We must learn that what we do can turn on us and affect us at any moment. For instance say you sold something. You may think no harm done right, well wrong. Eventually the truth comes out and when it does the consequences aren’t that pretty. So just be on your best behavior and if what you're doing isn’t good or right then don’t do it at all. Stick to your rules and resist the pressure. The second part of this quote tell me that don’t spread around rumors. If you don’t know what happened is better to keep your mouth shut. Talking and contributing when you don’t know what’s going on can have many negative effects. An example of this would be telling someone you know what someone else said about he/she. The person would investigate and if what you said and the person said she said doesn’t match they may believe the person is lying to her. This may start a fight and guess who would be in trouble for it. That’s right you for opening your mouth and telling what you thought you heard. In conclusion the best advice i can get from this is that if your not involved in something stay out of it for you may be the one who comes out affected by it.k.jpg
Thanksgiving and thanksgiving day
Thanksgiving what a marvelous holiday it is celebrated on the fourth thursday of november because of president Franklin D. Roosevelt . Franklin D. Roosevelt moved the holiday from the last thursday of november to the fourth thursday of november in December 26,1941. It has been celebrated nationally on and off since 1789 since George
Washington made a proclamation about it. Thanksgiving became a federal holiday since 1863 during the civil war when abraham lincoln made a proclamation stating that it was to give thanks to the heavens for all that it has brought...in other words to be thankful. The first thanksgiving ever is said to have taken place in 1621 when the plymouth settlers sat down and enjoyed a fall feast after a successful harvest. They ate things that are now common on thanksgiving day with the fellow Wampanoag indians. All though it wasn’t planned to be a yearly thing, when the pilgrims came from England to America it soon did.
Reflection:
Things that I’m thankful for

  1. My family
  2. Getting an education
  3. Having a home
  4. Still being alive
  5. Friends
  6. Having food and clothes
  7. Being healthy
  8. For my dog :(
  9. Technology
  10. Bears
  11. Literature
  12. For all the good things that has happen to me and to other people in the world.

“Doing what is right, fair and honorable is more important than winning or loosing.” Chick Moorman
To me this means that as long as you play fair everything will turn out to have a positive outcome. In other words playing fair has it’s perks in the end...you’ll win and have pride or loose knowing that you tried your best. This quote tells me that not always will we win and succeed in things. We can’t always get our ways and win but what we can do is accept that it didn’t work out and maybe next time it will be different. We must learn that there will be times when we will lose and it will be hard for us to accept it but it’s the right thing to do and the only choice we have. I remember once in the third grade entering a spelling bee. Let’s just say that i didn’t win. The hardest part wasn’t losing but accepting it, accepting that it was a fair game and that anyone had the chance to win. In life we are destine to do great things and the greatest thing you can ever do is learn from the things you do wrong and choose to do the right. So next time you're playing in a game make sure to play fair no matter what the outcome may be. Most importantly if you want to win try hard and put your effort into it… that’s the right way to win.

Q5.Here are some ways to show honor on veterans day:

  • change a light bulb green to show support.
  • Donate money to them.
  • Join any veterans day related activity.
  • fly a flag but make sure you do it correctly.

Something intresting that i found out about veterans day is that you can spend time with an actual veteran on that day. There is a special hospital where you can visit them.

Student success statement
  1. Have the courage to say NO.
  2. Have the courage to face the truth.
  3. Do the right thing because it is right.
These are the three magic keys to living your life with integrity.” - W. Clement Stone
To me, this quote meaning is to tell us to stay true to ourselves and who we are. That's why Mr. Stone states that as long as you have these three keys you’ll be okay in life. In other words as long as you follow the three simple rules he stated you are bound to stay true to yourself and that is one thing we always try to do. Growing up can lead to many obstacles and decisions where you are challenged to stand up to what’s right . taking the advice from Mr. Stone will help you become a better person  in life. Having the courage to say no, well that can be challenging especially if you're saying no to someone that’s very close to you. If we want to stay true to ourselves and show integrity we must learn the ways of how to use courage to back up what we believe is right. Saying no, telling the truth, and doing what’s right can all lead us to a better life of integrity.  It’s not difficult to follow these little steps it just may feel a little funny getting use to them. As long as you try you are bound to learn them and when you succeed, you’ll be one step closer into becoming a better person. An example of this would be not telling a lie. Next time you do something bad apologize for your mistake and promise to not do it again. If you keep practicing this habit it will be  easy for you to follow it.

"He that walketh with wise men shall be wise:but a companion of fools shall be destroyed." - Proverbs 13:20
To me this reminds me of the types of friendships you can have. There can be good ones that can bring great things. And there can be bad ones that can bring bad things. It's like you get what you choose in some sense. This reminds me of middle school the first week back to school everything was new and it was time to make a choice. When it comes to making new friends in a different place it really does challenge you. It's hard sometimes to choose the right group of friends because you may think there nice but in the end they were bad desguised as good. So what I'm trying to say is that when your choosing your friends think about it first. Think about how life would be when they are invoved in it.  Overall friends are suppose to be there for you and help you when you doubt yourself. We sometimes make mistakes when we choose these influences but as long as you learn not to make them again you'll be okay. So choose your friends so that they have a positive impact on you instead of a negative one.An example of this would be in middle school i chose the right friends. I know this because they always helped me and encouraged me to do great. If i would have chosen bad friends then i wouldn't have the support i had and i don't know what i would have turn out to be.

“The best recreation is to do good.”-William Penn

For starter what does it mean to recreated...to me it means to become better at doing something or to improve yourself as a person. In this quote by William Penn the message i recieve is that in order to become a better person you must learn ho w to recreate yourself. To me this means to try your best in everything and if you make a mistake just learn from it. In other words to recreate yourself you must stop judging yourself and start appreciating the things you have improved on. We sometimes are to hard on forgiving ourselves so we should recreate ourselves to forgive. Take up something that challenges you and face it. When you succeed in it you will find that you have recreated the person you were before. Recreation is great you become a better person smarter and more confident. An example of this would be if you are sometimes greedy practice sharing. You’ll  become a more sharing person that people will love.wp.jpg
