Yoga Therapist
A yoga therapist shows you how to do some exercises that will integrate your mind body and soul.
Some of their daily duties and responsibilities are:
  • Teach people certain postures/ stanzas that will help
  • The purpose of this would be to help with physical and mental problems.
  • They sometimes do 1 on 1 teaching or group teaching.
  • Helps put you into a better state of mind with their techniques.
They may do many other things but listed above are the main things that they do on a daily basis.

Salary: Their median annual wage is  $40,970.
Education:
There are no specific requirements but if you want to be one what people do is get a profession on teaching fitness which helps with certification. There are training programs that you can complete and they take about a year. They teach you what you need to know and what you can teach.
Demand or need for this profession: This job is said t grow about 24%.

Reflection: I think I would like to be one because you’re doing many things in this job. You’re not only helping people but helping them in many areas. For example on their health mentally and physically. I think it will also bring many new situations everyday.

Physical therapist
A physical therapist is a person who helps maintain and improve the movement of part of the body.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Help improve the patient's mobility through exercises
  • Aid reducing pain
  • Advice on health and fitness with people that have serious injuries because of an incident.
  • Design treatment and plans
  • Look over medical records
  • Test the patient in strength and other things such as motion, posture, coordination and function of balance and motors skills.
They may do many other things but listed above are their main tasks of everyday.
Salary: The median salary is $84,020.
Education:
You first have to complete the four years of high school and earn your high school diploma. If you can’t do that anymore then you can earn something equivalent to it like a G.E.D. Then  you have to complete an undergraduate program  and you can decide what courses you can take like anatomy that prepares you for this job. It would be good if you also have experience of your own so you should into some sort of internship.The final step is to earn a doctoral degree in this career if possible. Licensing may vary per state and to get residency you may need to pass an exam.
Demand or need for this profession:  This job is said to grow 34%.

Reflection: I think I would like to be one because you help people. Not only that but your like their hope at a chance to something that they could do before but can’t do anymore. In conclusion you don’t know what to expect and I like that. I would like to know everyone's story and help them.

Optometrist
An optometrist is a person who practices optometry. An optometry is when they exam the eyes to see if there are any visual effects. Some of their duties may include:
  • Do test on your vision and evaluate the results
  • Tell you if you have a eye problem
  • Prescribe glasses with the right dose
  • Prescribe medication such as eye drops
  • They can also provide treatment such as vision therapy
  • They also check patients that have diseases such as diabetes
There are many other things that an optometrist does listed above are just a few.
Salary: The median annual pay for an optometrist is about $103,900.
Education: Here are the steps you can take to become a optometrist. You first need to complete a four year program and earn your Bachelor's degree. Then you need to apply to a Optometry program which is really hard to get into.  Once your in they take about another 4 years to complete. After that you must meet the requirement for licensing and practicing. This may vary depending on where you live.
Demand or need for this profession: This job is said to grow 27% faster from 2014 to 2024.

Reflection: I would not like to be one because it doesn’t really intrest me. I want to help people but not just in one area. I want to be able to help people in all sorts of things. So this is why I don’t want to be one.

Kinesiologist
A kinesiologist is a health care provider who helps with the analysis of the human body movement.


Duties and responsibilities:
  • To monitor the human muscles.
  • Practice healing techniques.
  • Help people with their physical injuries by managing their condition, rehabilitating them to their old health, and making sure that there isn’t any complications.
  • They show people how to move their muscles without them actually hurting them selfs more.
*Note there is more than one type of kinesiologist, all which have different specialties. The one listed above is the most common Kinesiologist.


Salary: The median salary of a kinesiologist is around $56,980 annually.


Education: This career is required at least a bachelor’s degree but in other places a higher degree may be asked for. In order to start your path on this new adventure you must first find out what it’s about. So the first thing people do is research this career to get familiar with the job. Then you must decide what type of kinesiologist you would like to be. It’s recommended to go to a college that has more than one program on the kinesiologist category so you're not that limited. Your bachelor’s degree can be on the actual kinesiologist career or on exercise science. For exercise science you course will be consisting of biomechanics, Physiology, and anatomy.


Demand or need for this profession: this job is said to grow 34% for physical therapist, 6% for coaches, and 8% for fitness workers from 2014 to 2024.



Reflection: This job is great and it's great how these people help the injured recover but i don't think this job is fit for me. I want to help people but in a different way. I don’t think that rehabilitation is the way.

Environmental Health Specialist
A  environmental health specialist is in charge of inspecting and ensuring that local, state, and federal laws are followed.
Duties and responsibilities :
  • They may assist in staff training
  • They work with groups, such as those in the local and national level
  • They provide you with the best information about a place
  • They investigate food facilities
  • They do inspections in different areas. These may include: Restaurants, stores, a community,the water and the land quality and many more.
  • They also check things to make sure that they are hazardous.
  • They can even order to replace or remove something they don’t like.
Salary: A environmental health specialist can about $53,372.80 to $65,540.80 annually.
Education:
  1. You must at least obtain a bachelor’s degree.
  2. You must have information on the following fields: public health, chemistry,biology...and etc.
  3. If you want to work for the government you must complete a certification course.
  4. The type of training you get depends on the facilities you’ll inspect or the area of your work.
  5. You can receive your credentials through (NEHA).
Demand or need for this profession:This job is said to grow slower than average about 4% from 2014-2024

Reflection: I would like to be an environmental health specialist because they help the community and the people. They take care of our world and protect it from being harmed.Another reason why i would like to be one is because they can really change the world. I admire what they do and if they help people then i would like a  job like this too.

Emergency Medical Technician
An emt is a medical professional who are first responders in case of an emergency.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • They are contact when there is an emergency.
  • They have to work with other emergency personnel.
  • They must be able to stabilize and transport patients to the hospital.
  • They must be able to search for the most convenient hospital for the patient.
  • They must be able to make life or death decisions.
  • They must be able to work under pressured.
  • Most importantly they must be prepared for the worst because not all patients make it .
Salary: they get paid 31,020 on average since 2012.
Education:
  • You must have a high school diploma or a GED and formal emergency training.
  • There are three levels in EMT training, you must pass all three of these levels.
  • level#1 is called the EMT basic and in order to complete it you must pass the state written exam and the practical exam.
  • Level #2 is the EMT intermediate stage which includes 30 to 350 training hours.
  • Last but not least level #3 the highest paramedic, usually taken at a community college, in anatomy and physiology course.
  • Sometimes you can get your associate degree because of your training and the completion of the a program.
  • You must also take the NREMT to become an official or licensed EMT.
Demand or need for this profession : this job has grown 23% since 2012.

Reflection: I wouldn’t want to be an EMT because it doesn’t really interest me. It may be suitable for people that are calm but i tend to stress too much over anything. I couldn’t imagine myself in a chaotic environment like this one. I wouldn’t like losing a patient that would be too much for me to bare.

Ear Nose Throat Doctor
A ear nose and throat doctor also know as a ENT is a specialized doctor who treats the disorders or disease of the nose, ears, throat. They are trained to be one of the doctors who can provide you with medical treatment or surgical management in the categories of the ear , nose, and throat.
Duties and responsibilities :
  • Evaluates patient’s condition and checks the medical history of the patient.
  • They are trained to be like surgeons, so they perform their own surgery on their patients.
  • Must keep accurate records of their patient's problem.
  • They have to make reports to the insurance companies.
  • Negotiate for payment from the insurance companies.
  • They hire their own personnel or staff.
  • Pay their own bills and follow the local licensing requirements.
Salary: An ear nose throat doctor gets paid $369,790 annually.
Education: to become a ear nose throat doctor you must go to college. You must graduate from college with a medical degree. So in total it’s eight years of school . Reflection : I think this career sounds interesting so i think i would like to be one. I would like to be one because they help people and they once help me too. Their job sounds interesting in diagnosing people and the problems they have in the ear nose and throat. Not only that but your your own boss which i find pretty cool.

                                                      Dental assistant
A dental assistant is a person who  helps out the dentist. They make your visit to your local dentist easier and faster.
Some of their duties and responsibilities are :
To help the dentist in treatment and procedures.
Taking the x-rays of your teeth.
Looking at the medical history of the patient.
Preparing the equipment and all that is needed for the dentist.
Give patients the awareness and the information of the things that will be work on with them and also make them feel comfortable.
Managing the office and giving directions to the patients.
Be able to communicate with patients and help advise them for additional treatment.
Salary : the dental assistant gets paid $34,500 annually.
Education: Get your formal education at a place like a community college.Once you graduate you will probably receive a certificate. This process takes about 9 to 11 months to complete. You must get your accreditation by passing an exam that test you on your knowledge and skills.
Demand or need for this profession: this job is said to grow 18% faster from 2014 to 2024.

Reflection: This job sounds sort of interesting but not enough to make me want to get a degree on it.I wouldn’t want to be a dental assistant because they do so much yet their credit for it is very little. Like when you go to the dentist you usually expect the dentist to do all the work but it’s actually the dental assistant that helps you. Most people don’t even know that their dental assistants, just dentist. So i wouldn’t want to get a degree on this because it’s not that interesting and the dental assistants don’t receive as much credit as the should.

                                                     Chiropractor
A chiropractor is a doctor who tends to the problems related to the bones, tendons, and ligaments   of a patient.
Some of the chiropractor’s duties and responsibilities may include:
Making a consultation for the patient to determine his/her treatment plan.
They must be able to perform certain physical tests to determine the issue of the patient.
Discuss their job, what it does, and what additional things should the patient do.
They are to help relieve pain from the patients , all though it may be temporary.
They also recommend certain additional treatments for the patients.
May work with physical therapists and doctors.
There may be a time when the must administer the office duties.
salary : the median salary of a chiropractor is 66,160 since 2012.
Education :
a chiropractor must take four years of professional study and four more years of college.
Two years of the four must be spent studying basic sciences.
Must complete the requirements of the national board, part one and two.
The other two years of school must be spent studying the clinical sciences.
Part three of the national board is only completed if, the chiropractor would like to.
Then their is part four of the national board which is three test to see how well he/she scores in the practical skills they have learn.
Demand for this profession : this career is said to grow 17% from 2014-2024.

Reflection  : I don’t think i would like to be a chiropractor because this career doesn’t really intrigue me. I can’t study something that doesn’t fascinate me because the job that i choose will be the one that i do for the rest of my life. I want a career on something that will grab my attention and show me something new everyday.
