“ Of all the work that is done or that can be done for our country, the greatest is that of educating the body, the mind, and above all the character, giving spiritual and moral training to those who in a few years are themselves to decide the destinies of the nation.” Theodore Roosevelt
What this quote means to me is that in a few years we will have to make life impacting choices and in order to prepare for that we must educate ourselves in being the best that we can be. In other words we need to start thinking how our actions can have an effect on not only our lives but of the lives of people who didn’t have a choice to choose. Whatever we do today can affect us tomorrow or in some future time period. I know that it’s hard growing up and sometimes choosing is just so stressful...but we need to start today for a better tomorrow. The real question is how, how do we do this? Well we may all have a different idea of what to do and that’s great . The most important part is that you take action in educating that part of you that still needs work on. When i look at this quote the thing that makes it stand out isn’t it’s length but the choice of words that were used here. An example of this would be, take me for example i still need to train myself to better even though i’m a good person, to me that’s not enough. I say this because if we settle for little we will continue this until we settle for almost nothing. If we were to do this just imagine how our life would change for not pushing our limits...all the great things will cease to exist. So let’s make Theodore Roosevelt proud.
