Optometry Technician
An optometric technician is a person who assist a optometrist in it’s job and helps with their daily duties.
Some Duties and responsibilities may include:
  • Working in the office
  • Help give vision services
  • They may do diagnostic tests to diagnose the patient
  • They also record and measure the vision of a person
  • They may test eye function
  • Show patients how to use contacts
  • Sanitize and organize the equipment
  • They also schedule appointments and handle the schedule
There are many other things that a Optometrist assistant/technician may do but listed above is what they do on a daily basis.
Salary: $30,590
Education:
For starters they must have their high school diploma.After that you need to take a 1 to 2 year training program that will teach you about optometry. You can also get on-the-job training but it’s not an actual requirement.
Demand or need for this profession: this job is said to grow 23%.

Reflection: I wouldn’t want to be one because this job doesn’t sound like a passion to me. It’s a very great job but I want to do more. This job sounds like it can be very interesting and if I liked it i would have followed it. In other words since it’s not my passion I wouldn’t be interested in it.
