“ Character is higher than intellect.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

What this success statement means to me is that you can be as smart as you want to be but character will always stand out more. This is because actions speak louder than what you may know. What I have learned from this success statement is that as a person you have to be a combination of both. If you're only focusing on one then focus on who you are before what you know. This is because if you're a good person with a heart of gold then a lot of people will like you for that and that can open many doors. On the other hand if you focus on intelligence then that’s great too as long as you have a good character. If you were to be a bad character and have a lot of intelligence it wouldn’t matter because you character would stand out more. In other words you would most likely to disappoint people. An example of this would be the princess Jasmine. She has a great character and people like that of her. IN conclusion it is important to have a balance between character and intellect.
