"we learn to do by doing."- Spencer W. Kimball

This quote can mean many different things to many different people but to me it means that the only way we will learn is by doing. In other words you can learn through many other teqniques but the best one is by learning how to do it. For instance when we were kids, small 1 to 3 years old and we didn't know much about this world we had to learn how to get along with it. we had to learn how to breathe on our own and we did this by trying. I mean if we can learn how to breathe i think we can learn how to do almost anything. Before i would be scared or afraid to try new things because they were different and because i didn't  know how to do the things. i learned to not be afraid by learning how to face my fears of not knowing. in other words if i wouldn't try to learn how to do a certain thing then i would never be able to do anything. so what Mr. Kimball is trying to say is that the only way we will learn how to do something is bey doing it. So...next time you want to learn how to do someting try to do it. Show yourself that you can learn by being your own teacher by teaching yourself how to learn.
Example: i didn't know how to swim before intill i tried. My friends taught me how to trust myself and the simple teqniques on swimming. i'm glad i learned how to swim. it's true the only way i learned to swim was by swimming.

Emergency Medical Technician

An emt is a medical professional who are first responders in case of an emergency.

Duties and responsibilities:

• They are contact when there is an emergency.
• They have to work with other emergency personnel.
• They must be able to stabilize and transport patients to the hospital.
• They must be able to search for the most convenient hospital for the patient.
• They must be able to make life or death decisions.
• They must be able to work under pressured.
• Most importantly they must be prepared for the worst because not all patients make it .

Salary: they get paid 31,020 on average since 2012.

Education:

• You must have a high school diploma or a GED and formal emergency training.
• There are three levels in EMT training, you must pass all three of these levels.
• level#1 is called the EMT basic and in order to complete it you must pass the state written exam and the practical exam.
• Level #2 is the EMT intermediate stage which includes 30 to 350 training hours.
• Last but not least level #3 the highest paramedic, usually taken at a community college, in anatomy and physiology course.
• Sometimes you can get your associate degree because of your training and the completion of the a program.
• You must also take the NREMT to become an official or licensed EMT.

Demand or need for this profession : this job has grown 23% since 2012.

Reflection: I wouldn’t want to be an EMT because it doesn’t really interest me. It may be suitable for people that are calm but i tend to stress too much over anything. I couldn’t imagine myself in a chaotic environment like this one. I wouldn’t like losing a patient that would be too much for me to bare.

I choose to write this quote because i believe  that it’s important to be yourself and to really express it. Some people may find that their unique traits make them weak or weird but, i believe it makes you strong. I think those unique traits show people who you are and the specialty of your personality. Let’s just say that some people don’t really express themselves like they really want to because their afraid of being judged or they lack the confidence.I know someone who doesn’t have the confidence or the courage to show who they really are and this is for her and for all the other people who try to be someone they aren’t. I want people to be who they are and to actually show it. Leave a little of something every where you go and people will remember you as just so because you stood out to them from everyone else. So next time wear a crazy hat, smile at a person, or do something remarkable. There are so many things i can say about this quote but the most important thing that i want you to think about is who are you. Once you have truly answered that question will you be able to express who you are. So remember you're unique not weird and that’s your strength and not your weakness.

My example to you : Somebody i know can really sing but they don’t believe me and she tries to hide it. She sang to me and my other friends once and i was happy that she had embraced herself. I was glad that she confronted her fears and she did it. She just sang that one time and no other time but her voice is a unique talent of hers and i think sh should embrace it.

Ear Nose Throat Doctor

A ear nose and throat doctor also know as a ENT is a specialized doctor who treats the disorders or disease of the nose, ears, throat. They are trained to be one of the doctors who can provide you with medical treatment or surgical management in the categories of the ear , nose, and throat.

Duties and responsibilities :

• Evaluates patient’s condition and checks the medical history of the patient.
• They are trained to be like surgeons, so they perform their own surgery on their patients.
• Must keep accurate records of their patient's problem.
• They have to make reports to the insurance companies.
• Negotiate for payment from the insurance companies.
• They hire their own personnel or staff.
• Pay their own bills and follow the local licensing requirements.

Salary: An ear nose throat doctor gets paid $369,790 annually.

Education: to become a ear nose throat doctor you must go to college. You must graduate from college with a medical degree. So in total it’s eight years of school . Then it’s five years of residency training and a optional two years of training if you want to be more advanced.Demand or need for this profession: This job is said to grow 24% from 2010 to 2020.

Reflection : I think this career sounds interesting so i think i would like to be one. I would like to be one because they help people and they once help me too. Their job sounds interesting in diagnosing people and the problems they have in the ear nose and throat. Not only that but your your own boss which i find pretty cool.

Well this success statement of the day is hard to explain because in order to understand it you must do it. So let’s see everybody wants to be happy but we can’t never really find the key in obtaining it. So what Mr. Bednar is suggesting is that if you want to obtain that happiness you must be obedient. You must listen to yourself before you act. You must listen to yourself so that you’ll be able to do what’s right. In other words as long as you listen you will be happy. As long as you follow the rules and you choose to listen you will be happy. We all want happiness and if you're looking for a way to obtain it try David Bednar’s method. Example : If i listen to my parents and i follow their rule they will be happy with my behavior. If they are happy they will want to reward me with something that i want. As you can see because i was obedient i got rewarded and this made me happy.

                                                           LAUSD STUDENT SERVICES
The LAUSD district provides many services for the students . Some of these many include Beyond the bell programs,online learning,and your graduation requirements.

  The Beyond the bell programs: these may included after school programs, before school programs,
and music or art partner ships. They are all provided by LAUSD for students that may want to join clubs or need additional academic support.The best part of it all is that they are free.

  Online learning: This is one of the programs that LAUSD may also provide. It's an opportunity that lets all high schoolers catch up or get ahead in their education. It helps students attain credits from home through an online education.

  Graduation requirements : The lausd website provides information on your A-G requirements and all the essential information to be college ready.

Reflection : The lausd students services have opened a door to me of new information. I'm suprise that they provide so much services that we don't even know about. I'm very intrested in learning about the online courses i can take and it's advantages.

                                                               Dermatologist

A dermatologist is a doctor whose job is to treat the skin, hair and nails of a person.

Some of his/her duties and responsibilities may include:

Provide patients with a consultation.

Develop a diagnosis for the patient.

Be able to look at the patient’s medical history and perform a physical exam for further information.

Must be able to perform a dermatological screening which is to look for visible symptoms on the body.

Must be able to perform other types of test if needed.

Do procedures where they remove things such as warts and other stuff.

They provide patients with medication that relates to their condition and the recovery of it.

Last but not least the inform the patients of what their condition is, how the treatment will help,and they also answer any questions the patient may have.

Salary: Median salary for a Male dermatologist gets paid $300,000 while female dermatologist get paid $262,500.

Education: They must have an undergraduate degree at a four year college. While their at the four year college it would help them if they got classes that help in that medical field. They must get into medical school. In medical school you must meet the requirements and pass the dermatology residence. To complete it takes one year of an intern and three years of clinical practice. Last but not least you must get your licensing to  become an official dermatologist.

Demand or need for this profession:This job has grown 14% over the years.

Reflection: i wouldn’t want to be a dermatologist because it isn’t equal pay between men and women.I think this is unfair because we do the same job but we don’t get the exact same credit.
